I'm sure we've all walked out to our cars early in the morning and wonder if we've stepped in dog poop. Hell, I've done it the past few days. I just chalked it up to my neighbor's dog triumphantly depositing a tightly coiled trophy fresh on the lawn. But, even as I drove to work, the smell did not go away. Did I step in it? Upon further inspection I found I didn't step in anything....but what's that smell?!?

Well, it seems the local job market isn't the only sh**ty thing making a stink. It appears local farmers are getting ready for another season by fertilizing their fields with manure. So the smell you're smelling? Food....in a sense.

According to multiple sources, including an article written by the Advocate in recent months, local farmers are using various manures to fertilize their fields and if you happen to be down wind of the farms...then you get the smell we've been getting for a few days now.

I know it's pretty.....unpleasant. But, I'm good with it. Farmers are doing what needs to be done in their industry...gotta respect that.

Just take a deep breath and have a good day!
