Saturday, April 26th is this year's annual blood drive put on by the Victoria Harley Owners Group. The drive was originally dubbed the Tony Borowicz blood drive in honor of a former HOG member who lost his battle with kidney failure in 1997, but this year the drive is an effort to help local cancer patient Mark Dean. Dean was diagnosed with epitheloid sarcoma last year, and has been undergoing chemotherapy and receiving blood here in Victoria. Dean is a former HOG member, and organizers decided to dedicate this year's drive to helping save lives through him.

The drive is Saturday April 26th from 9am-4pm at Victoria Harley-Davidson at 608 N. Moody St. in downtown Victoria. Donors receive an event t-shirt, and can also win prizes. There is also a battle of the bands on the schedule, and there is always food and other cool stuff going on.

Remember, when you give blood, your donation can save up to 3 lives and benefit a number of patients.

Be a life saver!
