Indianapolis Colts Run What Might Be The Worst Trick Play in the History of the NFL

So if you watched last night's game between the New England Patriots and the Indianapolis Colts you probably thought to yourself "Wow, this should be a good game". And it was, until the the Colts, who were only down by 6, tried what is probably the worst trick play in the history of trick plays.

It was 4th down and the Colts were forced to punt so they did what any self respecting pee wee league team would do. Put in a guy who doesn't play Center at Center and a guy who has never played Quarterback a day in his life in at Quarterback. Everyone else was lined up on the right side and by everyone else.....I mean everyone else. The stand in Center and Quarterback were lined up all alone. I see what they were trying to do.....act like you were going to snap the ball to try and draw the defense offside but what someone forgot to tell the entire Colt's coaching staff that it was an illegal formation.

Not only was it illegal, but the ball was never supposed to be snapped. Tell that to stand in Center Griff Whalen who snapped the ball with defenders standing right in front of him. Just a bonehead play from the get go. Not only did it not work, but the Colt's were flagged for illegal formation and turned the ball over on downs.
