Summer in South Texas is just one of those pesky things we Texans deal with year after year. Sure, we bitch and moan about the temperature but who wouldn't when it reached 105 degrees with a heat index even higher?

Tell that to a school district in Connecticut. They plan on releasing students early this week due to the heat wave that has settled in that part of the country. With high temperatures expected to climb all the way to 94 degrees.

Really? 94 degrees? We call that a nice Autumn morning here in the Crossroads. And it seems humidity is also playing a factor in their decision. I don't have to tell you about the humidity in South Texas. You take a shower, leave the house, and by time you reach your car you need another shower again. It's insane.

However, in their defense, some schools in that part of the country don't have air conditioning which I think is completely ridiculous. Why not have an AC system for situations such as this. It gets warm pretty much everywhere in the country at some point. Just not having an AC seems weird to me but then again, I was born in raised in this steaming swamp known as south Texas.

I need to go shower.
