Jon Stewart’s first attempt at a new HBO series may have been scrapped, but the former Daily Show host isn’t down and out. Not only will Stewart return to standup for the first time in twenty-one years with a new HBO special, but also headline a Night of Too Many Stars.

You know Stephen King as one of the world’s most prolific and beloved fiction authors. But did you know King spent years writing books under the pseudonym Richard Bachman, and that several of “Bachman”s stories have been adapted to the screen too? That list includes the likes of the Arnold Schwarzenegger movie The Running Man. That’s just one of the facts featured in the latest installment of You Think You Know Movies!

Edgar Wright’s Baby Driver is already the director’s most successful film to date, with a $76 million worldwide take so far on a budget of $34 million. But the movie has yet to open in a bunch of countries, including Germany, Brazil, Japan, and more (it only just had its Australian premiere, courtesy of George Miller). So, to get more bods in theater seats, Universal has released the entire opening bank heist and car chase scene from the movie on YouTube. Even if you’ve already seen the movie, you gotta watch this again. And turn your volume up.

The good thing about Funko having a hand in as many licenses as it does is that it gives properties that would otherwise be deemed too niche a chance to have some collectibles. As good as Westworld and Stranger Things are, there's just not a lot of market interest for a wide and diverse line of action figures or toys for those things. With its smaller, similarly styled collectibles however, Funko can dabble in just about every character in every property without much muss or fuss. It also means there can be some true deep cuts for San Diego Comic-Con exclusives.

You know those rare moments when everyone on the internet seems to be talking about the same thing? Sports, politics, entertainment, whatever… those are the moments that make social media both a blessing and a curse. Take, for instance, a talented (if not slightly unknown) actress named Jodie Whittaker. If you were to go to Google Trends right now and look up her name, you’d see a sudden spike in searches, indicating that everyone everywhere is suddenly obsessed with learning more about her career. Why on earth could that be?

If you’re like me, you probably watched the first trailer for The Layover and thought, “Huh, they’re doing comedy?” The movie offers a strange mix of talent both behind and in front of the camera. William H. Macy isn’t exactly the first name that comes to mind when you think of raunchy sex comedy directors, nor are Lance Krall and David Hornsby household names as writers, but when you look at their combined track records the past few years - a whole bunch of Shameless and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia - the pieces for humor are most definitely there.

It sounds like science-fiction. In a way, I suppose it still is. But it’s about to become real: A “100 percent immersive” Star Wars hotel. It’s coming in the near future (not a long time ago in this case) to Walt Disney World.

You know the Planet of the Apes series, including the newest film, War for the Planet of the Apes. But did you know that the original movie, based on a French science-fiction novel, was actually co-written by The Twilight Zone creator Rod Serling? It’s true, and while some of Serling’s draft was changed before the film was made, one big component survived: He was the one who suggested the twist ending involving the Statue of Liberty. (Of course he did, Rod Serling loved twist endings.) That’s just one of the facts featured in the latest episode of You Think You Know Movies!

One could go a little mad stitching together the various connections of American Horror Story seasons, and the seventh year looks to be no different. Ryan Murphy teases a Freak Show connection waiting in the wings, along with a terrible, terrible comic idea.

We haven’t seen too much of the Han Solo movie, except for all that hot goss about why Phil Lord and Chris Miller left the project, but the set photos have been trickling in. Yesterday, a couple pictures surfaced from the set of our young Han (Alden Ehrenreich), Chewbacca, and Woody Harrelson’s mysterious character together and in costume on set.

We are told that War for the Planet of the Apes will conclude the trilogy of films started with Rise of the Planet of the Apes, and continued in Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, that tells the story of Caesar, the child of a laboratory chimpanzee exposed to an experimental Alzheimer’s treatment, who grows up to become the talking leader of a race of super-apes. The Apes films will continue, but Caesar’s story will not.
