Beyonce would kill for that price point but I digress. Yes, what you read is true technically speaking. This past week saw the unveiling of Apple's new iPhone line as well as the iWatch or Apple Watch. So, to commemorate the occasion, Apple hired Rock veterans U2 to help roll out their new tech. They gave away free copies of U2's new album "Songs of Innocence" to pretty much anyone with an iPhone. The only problem was.....nobody wants it. Leaving Apple on the hook for about $100 million. No, seriously $100 million!! That's the deal they struck with Universal (U2's Label) and there were only 2 million active downloads of the new album putting each album at around $50. Steve Jobs would be rolling in his grave right about now.

To make a long story short....Apple had MORE people complain about the free album than actually download it. So Apple got 2 million copies of an album at four times the average unit price, and its loyal customers hated the gesture so much that the company actually had to fork over more money to put up a web page that would help people get it off their phones.

Boneheads.
