Crime increases this time of year as shoppers can find their vehicles broken into and packages stolen while in a store, package deliveries taken from front porches, and other kinds of crime. We do see increases in most types of crime during the holiday season but, is Victoria on the list of Most Burglarized U.S. Cities Per 10,000 People? The answer is,is no. And, if fact, it's not even one of the more highly-populated Texas cities like Houston or Dallas. That distinct honor falls to the city of Port Aurthur.

Yes, the birthplace of Janis Joplin fell victim to 145.5 burglaries per 10,000 people. That's 794 burglaries out of a population of 54,557.
