As reported by The Victoria Advocate, the new Placido Benavides is in the final stages of completion.  The road has been completed for over two months, but items such as fencing and protection against erosion, are expected to be complete by the end of next week.

Not only will this new road help ease traffic on Navarro it will also open up hundreds of acres for new development.  The Placido Benavides Design District will adopt standards that are intended to raise the level of quality of development within the area!

Accidents on Navarro is one of the main reason for the construction of the new road.  In an article, I did earlier this year, Navarro intersections were 5 of the top 6 dangerous intersections, including the #1  intersection of Navarro and LaSalle in front of Victoria Mall.

Construction has already started on the median project that will extend the median south to Airline.  The construction will move southward in segments. There has also been a new light installed at the corner of Navarro and Morning Glory, while the light is completely setup.  It has not yet gone live.
