The Victoria Generals allowed 1 run from the East Texas Pumpjacks in the first inning, but that was all they allowed, as they put together a powerful 10-1 win at Riverside Stadium last night. Generals starting pitcher Jeremy Flores gave up the run early in the game, and managed to give up only 2 hits in the 3 innings he was in action.

By the 4th inning, the Generals managed to roar back to a 9-1 lead, on their way to a 14-hit night, and Daniel Tuchez got the win in relief, as he went 4 innings with no earned runs. Jake McMurtry pitched for the first time as a General, allowing only 1 hit in the final 2 innings. The Generals are now 6-4 on the year, while the Pumpjacks droppedto 7-2.

The Generals kick off a 5-game home stand Friday night against the Alexandria Aces. Friday night is also Hometown Heroes Night, presented by First Victoria. All firefighters, law enforcement officers, active and retired military, and all health care professionals will get in free. A portion of the proceeds will go to the Crossroads Chapter of the American Red Cross.
