Martin de Leon is known as the founder of the city of Victoria and Victoria County, and he'll be honored tomorrow (Saturday June 4) with the dedication of a historical marker in Port Lavaca.

The marker, which will be unveiled aat the Bauer Exhibit Building at Six mile Park, will be unveiled at 10 a.m. and will include a presentation about de Leon's history, including the original Victoria trading port.

The de Leon family has set up a go fund me account to raise money to place statues of both de Leon and his wife in De Leon Plaza in Victoria. To contribute, click here.
