The Victoria Fire Department welcomed their latest staff members on board this week with a swearing-in ceremony and then took the time to recognize some outstanding achievements.

Welcome to Victoria Fire Department

In the photo above we see the seven new recruits who have recently joined the Victoria Fire Department. In a press release from the City of Victoria, the photo shows our cities newest recruits from left to right as Firefighter/EMT John Lewis and EMT trainees Nicholas Barnes, Kyle Crowder, Dakoda Drabek, Jeffrey Mosmeyer, James Richards, Mathew Sheffel, and Oscar Torres. According to the city of Victoria, the new firefighters and EMTs were sworn in by Debbie Breeden during a ceremony at the Victoria Community Center. We thank all of them for their service to the city. They will now begin a six-month probation and training period.

Congratulations to Admin Inventory Specialist Adrienne Willis

While the city was able to welcome their newest firefighters and EMTs they also had a goodbye on their list as well. The city sends its thanks to longtime Admin Inventory Specialist Adrienne Willis. Willis will be moving on to accept a new position as a procurement specialist with the City of Victoria Purchasing. Adrienne will now be a part of issuing purchasing orders for Victoria and she will also be helping out the City of Victoria print shop. Adrienne has been with Victoria Fire since July of 2017 and we all thank her for her service.

Victoria Fire Congratulates Firefighter/EMT David Willis

Special recognition also went out to Firefighter/EMT David Willis this week who was recognized for completing his six-month probationary service period. David was also recognized as part of the ceremony that took place last Friday at the Community Center. Willis completed the required training as a full member of the Victoria Fire Department after beginning his career in October of 2020.

The U.S. Census 2019 American Community Survey and America's Health Rankings Senior Report 2019 data were also used to provide demographics on the senior population of each state and the state's rank on senior health care, respectively.
