Watch today's press conference from the Victoria Emergency Management Meeting in the Facebook live video above filmed by KIXS 108.

Today's meeting included a discussion about DHSH's recommendations to employers on how to handle employees who may have been, and how to handle allowing employees to return to work.

Victoria's Mayor spoke about reopening the city for business as quickly and as safely as possible over the next couple of weeks. You can hear his comments in the video above. The city would like to see the mindset be that small businesses could reopen if those businesses take steps to properly enforce social distancing at their locations. We will hear more about these plans later in the week.

As of Friday afternoon, the total number of confirmed cases in Victoria County was 89, the number of active cases is 34 and total recovered cases is 54. Numbers will be updated at the end of the day today at Victoriatxoem.org

Currently, the city says they do not see the need to reopen the mobile site for COVID-19 testing in Victoria. The city is still focused on monitoring the number of cases since Easter weekend to determine if they see a spike in the virus. So far they have not seen one.

Local conditions will very much determine how we reopen. Everyone at the meeting agreed that Victoria county had a lot to be thankful for as we deal with this virus. We whole-heartedly agree. We thank the panel and city officials and all our front line workers in the Crossroads for all they do each day. We are very lucky to have all of you.

Wednesday's 3 PM meeting will be carried by Townsquare Media radio stations on social media.
