Officials from the Victoria County Public Health Department have confirmed three positive cases of COVID-19 in Victoria County.

Two female residents in their 20's and one male resident in his 30's have tested positive and are in isolation at their home and are being monitored by the Victoria County Health Department.

The VCHD is monitoring the patients' families, setting up tests and working to identify any contacts who may have been exposed while they were infectious. Persons known to have been in contact with these patients will be notified by Victoria County health care staff.

According to the Center for Disease Control COVID-19 cases have ranged from mild to severe with symptoms including fever, cough, shortness of breath appearing anywhere from 2 to 14 days after exposure.

Reiterated on the Victoria County Public Health Department News Release,

" There is not a vaccine to prevent COVID-19 at this time. The best way to prevent this illness is to avoid being exposed through social distancing." The CDC also advises preventative action to prevent the spread such as hand washing.
