Victoria athletes who grew up as fans of the Harry Potter series have a chance to play Quidditch right here in the Crossroads! If you enjoy hockey, soccer, polo and other similar sports you may find you'll love sweating to some Quidditch.

Better yet, you don't necessarily have to be a fan of Harry Potter, or know anything about Quidditch, to join up with the team over at Victoria College. Professor Alejo Enriquez told crossroadstoday.com that anyone who is interested in playing can find out more by visiting Victoria Quidditch on Facebook.

The game was, of course, made popular as part of J.K. Rowling's series but has gone on to enjoy a life of its own with National and International competitions world-wide. Two teams with seven players each mount broomsticks and play the game in a hockey-sized rink. Don't worry, there is no ice involved.

Not only is the game a great workout, but it's also lots of fun to play. Check out some top-notch highlights from the US Quidditch World Cup below, then hit up the folks at Victoria College to get involved!

You'll find that many of the championship teams in the U.S. Quidditch Cup have roots right here in Texas so you'll be in good company. You can also check out VictoriaQuidditch.org for more on our local team.
