The City of Victoria and the rest of Texas have opened COVID-19 vaccination appointments to all adults  While all adults will be eligible, vaccine supply remains somewhat limited. The State of Texas will receive more than one million first does this week.

Currently, Victoria has the Moderna vaccine but the Johnson and Johnson vaccine may be available in Victoria soon as well. Registration only takes a few minutes and once you register you will be notified when your name is randomly drawn via computer to receive your Moderna vaccine.

A date will populate to receive your vaccine when you're notified via email or text after your name is selected. At this time you are not eligible to choose a date to receive the vaccine as this is predetermined by the HUB coordinators, however, you DO get to choose the time you want to come in.

The Clinics in Victoria have been running very smoothly and most community members are amazed and appreciative of the easy process of being vaccinated once they arrive at the HUB. Mr. Gonzales estimates the vaccine process including wait time is less than 20 minutes.

Public Health Department Director, David Gonzales has offered that his best guess is that by the end of April 2021, anyone in Victoria who is willing to be vaccinated for COVID 19 will have had the opportunity to do so.

If you have any questions, you are encouraged to call the Victoria COVID hotline number at 1.888.966.5640

By the numbers: The Texas Department of State Health Services is allocating 818,410 doses to 779 providers in 202 counties. In addition to those doses, more than 200,000 additional first shots are expected to be sent directly from the federal government to pharmacy locations and federally-qualified health centers.
