A tropical storm remains in effect for Victoria and Coastal Counties until Sunday afternoon.  Wind effect should be minimal with peak winds at 20-30 mph with gusts to 30 mph. We can also expect high rain chances, since we are on the north side of the storm.  Rainfall amounts could total 2-4 inches, with localized higher amounts.

We are about to head into the prime months of hurricane season.  This is when tropical storms and hurricanes can form not just in the Gulf of Mexico, off the Southeast coast or western Caribbean Sea, but also in what is called the main development region and take long tracks through the Atlantic Basin.
