REMEMBER HOW COLD IIT GOT IN FEBRUARY?
This past February we found out just how Texans handle true winter conditions. Not Well! I remember waking up on that Monday morning to snow falling and my street covered in ice. I walked gingerly to my car as I was sliding on ice on the driveway I turned on my car super early to warm it up in hopes of defrosting the ice that was all over my car.
The ice eventually melted away and I was able to drive to work at the blazing speed of about 5-7 MPH while feeling my car lose traction on the icy road. It was pretty scary. I remember breaking the mic for my first weather report that morning and saying. 'The current temperature is 9 degrees and the wind chill is 1 degree.' Did you like the extreme cold?
HERE ARE THE ACTUAL TEMPERATURES FROM THAT COLD SPELL:
Below are the official numbers for the cold spell back in February as reported by AccuWeather. We actually had about 8 days of true winter conditions during that stretch. In that 8 day stretch, the temperature did not go above 40 degrees. From Friday night (2/19) through Wednesday (2/24) the actual air temp stayed at or below freezing, consecutivly.
