No one’s exactly sure if FOX’s once-breakout Sleepy Hollow can recapture any magic without the chemistry of lead stars Nicole Beharie and Tom Mison, but at least we’ll get the chance to see for ourselves soon enough. Ichabod Crane heads to Washington in a first trailer for Sleepy Hollow Season 4, picking up a new partner along the way.

FOX’s one-time breakout hit Sleepy Hollow never quite regained its head after Season 1, but the Season 3 exit of leading star Nicole Beharie seemed like a killing blow for the occult thriller. Season 4 will continue the the ride, however, as Sleepy Hollow now sets a Scully-type co-anchor for Ichabod Crane to replace Abbie Mills, along with a flurry of overhauls.

Sleepy Hollow fandom found itself in an understandable uproar by the Season 3 finale seemingly killing off co-lead Abbie Mills (Nicole Beharie), an essential chemistry that made the series possible in the first place. A fourth season subsequently seemed a longshot, but now those crazy FOX folk have decided to give it a try, renewing Sleepy Hollow to go solo in Season 4.
