My wife and I had a chance to see Styx in concert earlier this month, and I must say, it was great! I've been lucky enough to see quite a few bands in my day, but Styx was one of those that I had never had the chance to see. Plus, My wife hasn't seen very many bands in concert, so I thought it would be a good opportunity. And, being that the band has so many instantly-recognizable hits, I was sure she would love it.

This show was at the Arena Theater in Houston, and never having been there, I wanted to check it out. Let me tell you, the place is great! It's an intimate venue that seats only a few thousand, and it's also in the round, which means there are absolutely no bad seats! The theater is right off Hwy 59 with easy access, and it has it's own parking garage, which was $10. I'm not sure if that's a regular price, but that's not bad either way.

The band was tremendous, running through pretty much all of their best material, that was played close enough to the original sound of the songs, but with enough improvisation to keep it interesting.  Bottom line, they put on a hell of a show! I would recommend seeing them if you get the chance, and I would also not hesitate to see another show at the Arena Theater.
