The City of Victoria has been talking about the creation of a COVID-19 Vaccine Update notification system in partnership with the Victoria Office of Emergency Management.

Working alongside the Public Health Department, Victoria will share information and updates about the COVID-19 vaccine as updates become available with a new notification system. If you would like to sign up for COVID-19 vaccination updates from the City of Victoria you can text the word ADD to 361-433-4554.

At the end of the day Wednesday, the Victoria Office of Emergency Management updated new case numbers in Victoria County. The Victoria County Public Health Dashboard can be found here. Wednesday evening's report detailed  50 new cases of COVID-19 and the office also updated six deaths that had been reported to the Texas DSHS Vital stats records according to Crossroadstoday.com.

The six deaths added to the report are made up of two female Victoria County residents in their 80s, 1 male in his 80s, two males in their 70s, 1 male in his 60s, and 1 male in his 50s.

Victoria County has now seen a total of 6660 confirmed cases of COVID-19. The coronavirus hospitalizations make up 19.13 % of the hospital capacity in the county.

In addition to the new COVID-19 Vaccine notification system, the city can still answer questions about coronavirus by contacting the health department directly during normal business hours at 361-578-6281.
