At least one member of the band Seventeen was killed when a tsunami struck their stage in the middle of a concert last night (Dec. 22) in west Java Indonesia, and two more are still missing.

Bassist Muhammad Awal Purbani and the band’s road manager Oki Wijaya are among the 222 people so far reported dead as a result of this sudden and unexpected natural disaster.

Guitarist Herman Sikumbang, drummer Windu Andi Darmawan and another member of Seventeen's crew are currently among the 30 people reported as missing. Over 800 people were injured as a result of the tsunami, which scientists suspect was caused by an eruption of the Anak Krakatoa underwater volcano.

As shown in the video footage below, Seventeen were performing at the Tanjung Lesung Resort when a gigantic wave of water suddenly crashes through the backdrop, sweeping the stage, group and audience back out towards the sea.

The band's lead singer Riefian Fajarsyah was among the survivors, although his wife is still missing. He tearfully reported his bandmate's passing in an Instagram post, adding "please pray that we can find Andi, Herman and Ujang and my wife."

If you wish to help the survivors of the Krakatoa tsunami, one way would be by donating to the Red Cross, which is already on the scene providing first aid.
