If you are still looking for rent relief, the City of Victoria has posted an application for assistance to all of us who could use a little help with paying our rent due to the loss of income and other hardships caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The City of Victoria has received $176,363 in Texas Emergency Rental Assistance Program (TERAP) funds to assist eligible citizens behind on their rent due, for a total of up to 6 months, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In order to qualify, you must be a resident of Victoria County, fall below the 80% Victoria median income ( info below) and be able to prove your hardship is due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Available to read in its entirety on the City of Victoria website which you can view here as well, the City of Victoria civic alert is offering those of us who need assistance and qualify for the program, the Texas Emergency Rental Assistance Program which is being administered by the City of Victoria Development Services.

According to state and federal guidelines, applicants must be experiencing financial hardship because of COVID-19 and must fall below 80% of Victoria’s median family income, which varies depending on household size. The median family income table may be viewed at www.victoriatx.gov/cdbg. For example, according to the graph, a family of one who makes below $38.550.00 annually would qualify for the assistance.

The applications and details are provided in the link here and the City of Victoria will be taking completed applications and allowing rent relief on a first come first serve basis.

You may turn in completed applications in person at  702 N. Main Street, Suite 129 Victoria, Texas 77901 or mail them to the City of Victoria, Attn: Development Services - TERAP, P.O. BOX 1758 Victoria, Texas 77902-1758.
