KLUB Classic Rock 106.9 and RCR Homes, Your Crossroads Builder, would like to take a moment to say 'thank you' to all the Heroes Behind the Badge.  We want to say Thank You to all the police officers, sheriff’s deputies, corrections officers, detectives, parole officers, probation officers, SWAT team members, traffic cops, police supervisors, law enforcement managers, fire fighters, EMS personnel and police chiefs.

This week we would like to honor Officer Christopher Carter. He has been in law enforcement for four years and works for the Victoria Police Department. We asked him a few questions so you could get to know him better. His favorite childhood memory is fishing with his grandpa. He enjoys eating at Texas Roadhouse. His favorite artist is Brantley Gilbert and loves the song “One Hell of an Amen”. He has only been to one concert and that was Nickelback (poor guy). Officer Carter has two dogs named Rocky and Briseis. We asked him what made him want to become a law enforcement officer. He told us while serving as a security Officer for VISD he was blessed to work with a School Resource Officer who was a true public servant. His work ethic and professionalism is what made him want to be a Police Officer. He would like the public to know that officers love their community. Officers just want to keep our community a safe environment to raise our children in.

Samantha Carter nominated her husband. He's is a great husband and loving father to our three boys. Growing up all he wanted to do is serve others. When he was 17 joined the Marine Corps and honorably served 4 years. Within those 4 years he deployed three times. Once to Japan and two other times were to Combat in Iraq. When he left the Marine Corps his ultimate goal was to become a Police Officer. In 2012 he made that happen and was hired on in Port Lavaca. People in Port Lavaca always had something nice to say about him. I'm not just saying this, because he is my husband. People always would say how Officer Carter would go above and beyond. Christopher served 3 years there and in 2015 resigned as Corporal. In 2015 he then joined the Victoria Police department. He is already known in our area and people have already acknowledged how devoted he is to serving people. I believe he is one of the most selfless people there are around here. Thank you for giving our Officers this chance and acknowledging all their hard work. Thank you for appreciating our Law Enforcement especially during these hard times.

If you know of someone who deserves to be honored please fill out the brief questionnaire below. Each week our station will be honoring a law enforcement person on air.  Heroes Behind the badge is brought to you by KLUB Classic Rock 106.9 and RCR Homes Your Crossroads Builder.
