Iron Maiden guitarist Adrian Smith will release an autobiography next year. According to Google and other retail sites, the 288-page autobiography is titled "Monsters of River And Rock: My Life As Iron Maiden’s Compulsive Angler." It will be released on May 14, 2020.

Adrian Smith joined Iron Maiden in 1980, replacing guitarist Dennis Stratton, and remained in the band until he walked away around 1989. He was replaced by guitarist Janick Gers, who has remained in the band ever since, along with longtime axe-slinger Dave Murray. Smith returned to Iron Maiden in 1999 giving the group a triple guitar attack for the past 20 years.

"Monsters of River And Rock: My Life As Iron Maiden’s Compulsive Angler" will shine a light on Smith’s personal life as well as his time with Maiden. The title alludes to his obsession with river fishing and the book will give insight into his decision to leave Iron Maiden, his solo career, joining Bruce Dickinson’s solo band and finally deciding to return to the iconic group.

Smith is not the first member to release a book from the Iron Maiden camp. Frontman Bruce Dickinson published his autobiography "What Does This Button Do?" in October 2017. It debuted at No. 10 on The New York Times Hardcover Nonfiction best sellers list.

Adrian Smith wrote classic Maiden songs like “2 Minutes To Midnight,” “Wasted Years,” “Stranger in a Strange Land” and “The Evil That Men Do.”

Iron Maiden recently kicked off their ‘Legacy of the Beast Tour’ in Florida on July 18. The band plays in Boston tonight (Aug. 1). For all their tour dates click here.
