Holiday Hero Surprises Amarillo Children’s Home with $50K Donation

It's always great to be able to share good news, especially this time of year, and that's when we hear a stories about people showing their generosity with donations to people and organizations.

An Amarillo non profit organization was the recipient of one of those donations, this one worth $50,000. Officials at the Children's Home in Amarillo were alerted by a phone call advising them to check their Nativity scene outside the building, and that's when an employee discovered an envelope with the check inside.

Officials said they contacted the donor whose name was on the check, and the man said that he's inspired by the youngsters that the home helps. The home is a place for at-risk children to stay in Amarillo.
