Dogs are man's best friend, and you don't just abandon your best friend. Unfortunately, sometimes animal owners get into situations that may result in the inability to take care of their pets. Sometimes it is in the best interest of the animal to change their living arrangements.

However, there is a right way and a wrong way to go about it. I know I've had my own issues. I have had my Zeusy-Poo for five years since he was only weeks old. I have had my own pet issues, as he suffers from severe separation anxiety and cannot be left alone indoors without expecting him to cry loudly. Fortunately, I was able to rewire my entire system to keep him. However, I understand many people cannot make those adjustments.

When those situations pop up, there are options. You can go to the extreme and make life changes to your schedule, or on the other hand, if that is just too much, there is always to option to rehome.

A 68-year-old Texas dog owner did neither of those options. Instead, Luis Antonio Campos decided to take his dog for a ride, pull over, and have the passenger get out and dump his beautiful husky, abandoning him and leaving the animal to fend for himself and is now paying the price. Campos was arrested on suspicion of animal cruelty and currently facing those charges.

As if abandoning an animal on the side of the road is not heartbreaking enough, there is a video showing the husky running after its owner's car as it drove off.; how incredibly disheartening.

Remember, when you buy a dog, it is not just a cute gift or temporary burst of happiness; these are living, breathing creatures that require a ton of time and responsibility. Hyperactive dogs like Huskys require even more attention than some other breeds. Yes, they are beautiful, yes, they are fun but remember to step back and think about all the responsibility it will require to maintain that animal.

Luckily for the beautiful 10-month-old husky, a pet rescuer caught the entire thing on camera and got the dog. People has reported the dog has now been adopted and presumed his new name Nanook with a family who will hopefully give him the love and attention he deserves.
