If your Halloween is feeling hollow, taking a trip on down to Rocky Creek Maze and enjoy especially the Haunted Trail in Moulton to fulfill your frightened spirit! Since 2007, the maze at Chaloupka Family Farm owned by Eugene, Elyse, Junior, and Helen Chaloupka has been offering “farmtastic fun.” There is an 8-acre corn maze cut and designed as a specific image each year which can be seen at a birds’ eye view on the website. Overall the fun rests in this, their giant hay slide, hayride, barrel train ride, frog hopper, corn cannon, and much more. I’m a thrill seeker myself and interested in being involved with the spookier side of things as the Halloween season approaches.

This 2020 season specifically, the Haunted Trail will be open on Friday and Saturday nights beginning on October 9th and continuing until October 31st.

The maze and other activities are accessible beginning October and running through November, but the Haunted Trail is only available for guests to attend weekends in October through Halloween. Each year I have gone, guests load up onto a trailer for a hayride down to the entrance of the Haunted Trail; on the way a scary story is told to set the mood. Each year I’ve gone with my family, the story changes, which keeps us coming back! You never know who you'll encounter on the Haunted Trail!

Admission into the maze requires a general admission purchase with an extra $10 for the Haunted Trail and tickets can be purchased at their website or in person. Keep in mind, as the loading of the hayride to the Haunted Trail begins loading at dark, the last ticket sold is at 9 p.m. Rocky Creek Maze plans to open this year with their “Play Safe Plan,” ensuring masks are to be worn where social distancing is not possible, provide sanitizing station, and health screenings of employees before their shifts begin.

Be sure to check out the website for information regarding ticket purchase, view the corn maze image for the season, and for directions. I plan on attending this opening weekend and can not wait to hear what you think if you dare go! Thanks to our fine intern Lorin Walker for her work on this story and for running through a Haunted Corn maze so that she could tell our listeners all about it!
