If you have a product that you would like to see on H-E-B shelves.  Here is your chance!   The H-E-B Quest for Texas Best 2021 is now accepting entries. The H-E-B Quest for Texas Best is an annual competition that searches for the best foods, beverages, and even non-food items made in the Lone Star State. Finalists will get a chance to win $25,000 and placement on their shelves and it happened to one Victoria resident back in 2014.

Sara Vela had only been making jelly for a few short months before Vela Farms caught the eye of H.E.B. when Vela Farms jelly was entered into H.E.B's prestigious Quest for Texas Best in 2014. Out of 650 entries across the state of Texas, Vela Farms won 3rdplace and was awarded $10,000 and more importantly, her products would now be featured on H-E-B shelves. In March of 2019, Vela Farms reached the million-dollar mark in sales at H.E.B! Read more below

“Through Quest, we have the opportunity to connect with even more Texas-based innovators each year, which helps us further curate rich and robust offerings for customers,” said James Harris, Director, Diversity & Inclusion and Supplier Diversity, H-E-B. As reported by mysanantonio.com.

TH-E-B skipped the competition in 2020, due to the pandemic. This year H-E-B is requiring participants to submit a two-minute video allowing for some creativity and explanations about their product. You can enter your product by visiting the H-E-B website. The call for entries is now open, and submissions will be accepted through April 7th. Eligible products must not be available at any other large chain or retailer, and the vendors must be willing to sell exclusively to H-E-B. Additionally, Texas-based suppliers must also create, produce or co-pack the products in Texas.
