Gov. Greg Abbott Says “Massive Outbreak” In Texas

Gov. Greg Abbott says we are facing a "massive outbreak" in Texas of coronavirus new cases.

According to News 10, The Gov. said in a several interviews today that the state would again have over 5,000 new coronavirus cases.  Not only that, but there would be over 4,000 new hospital patients admitted who have COVID-19.

“There is a massive outbreak of COVID-19 across the state of Texas,” Abbott said in an interview with KFDA-TV in Amarillo.

According to the Gov. hospital's officials are keeping a close eye on space.

“There are some regions in the State of Texas that are running tight on hospital capacity that may necessitate a localized strategy to make sure that hospital beds will be available,” he said.

Abbott pushed to open the state early back in May, and some believe it was too early.

We are definitely seeing a surge in Texas.  Lots of communities have now required you to wear a mask if you can't social distance.

Here in Bell County, Judge David Blackburn has issued a directive requiring businesses mandate face coverings on their premises, and strongly urged members of the public to wear face coverings. Blackburn said he does not want to take steps backward to where we were in the early days of the pandemic, when businesses were limited in operation and hospitals were not offering elective procedures and other services.
