Thursday June 14th is World Blood Donor Day. It's a day designated around the globe to encourage people from all nations to donate blood, and our own South Texas Blood & Tissue Center has a number of different blood drives scheduled around Victoria.

Donating blood is something that can easily be taken for granted. A single donation can save multiple lives, and it's something that is a constant need in South Texas.  Giving blood is also good for your health. It only takes about 30  minutes, and when your body replenishes it's blood cell supply, it removes iron, which at high levels can contribute to heart disease. Your body also will produce new, stronger,  healthy blood cells. You also get a mini physical, which can give you important information about your health. So celebrate World Blood Donor Day at one of the many blood drive locations listed below.
