If you haven't heard of the Texas A&M University Military Band, then you really need to get out more. The TAMU Fightin' Texas Aggie Band is the largest military band in the United States. Yup! The Aggies have the largest military band in the nation. Their band consists of over 400 members of the Texas A&M Corps of Cadets and the band is a staple in football season as the halftime show. It's quite amazing that the band is this large because for a while, A&M was an all-male school, and up until 1965 all students had to enroll in the A&M Corps of Cadets.

This band has grown to be more than just a mere halftime show for the football games but has gained notoriety in national accomplishments. What accomplishments? Well, like being awarded the Louis Sudler Trophy in 2001 by the Phillip John Sousa Foundation. Also, George W. Bush asked the band personally to play at his presidential inauguration parade. Awesome stuff, right? Here's a video of a halftime show the Fightin' Texas Aggies put on in 2019...

If you want to join this band, you'll have to prove your worth and also have played in a marching band in high school. Not to mention, you also need to pass the tryout. Again, not just anyone can join. They aren't famous for nothing after all. Thanks go out to the team of FanBuzz for providing the information. Where you are an Aggies fan or not, you cannot deny the level of skill and ability of the Fightin' Texas Aggie Band.
