Tonight is a BIG NIGHT for East and West High School students as they rally for their home team on the football field at Memorial Stadium at 7pm tonight.

The stands will be shaking as the two teams bring it all on the field for the SOLD OUT game as the East Titans and West Warriors go head to head for arguably the biggest home town football rivalry game in Victoria.

The action doesn't stop after the game though, tonight it's VISD's beloved Battle of the Boot awards presentation where the rivalry morphs into revelry as students, faculty, teachers, and families celebrate the history and traditions of being a VISD student as the coveted Boot Trophy will be given to tonights winning team. The Boot Trophy is a tradition that began in 2010, the year both new East and West schools open their doors. It was during that time that Victoria was running a community campaign " Bring Your Boots" and the tradition of presenting the boot trophy to the winning team stuck.

Whoever wins tonight's football game tonight wins the Boot Trophy, but the competition between these two schools has been going on all week long on both campuses.

For the past week, students and faculty from both schools have been showing their school spirit by dressing up for each day of the week with costumes and competing off the field for bragging rights in a Twitter and Hashtag competition #BOB20VEHS and #BOB20VWHS respectively. The winner of the Twitter and Hashtag competition will be announced at the winning campus later this afternoon with a presentation of the coveted spirit stick.

Boots, trophies, and bragging rights all tonight and all to show the love of being at high school student at VISD.

Last year, Victoria East took the trophy. Let's see who wins it tonight! Be sure to check out the live coverage of the East and West game tonight on Q-92s Facebook page.
