Interference. That was the call during the first inning of Game 4 of the ALCS in Houston last night, on a play that would have given the Astros a 2-run homer in the first inning.

Jose Altuve was at bat and he hit a long fly ball that was headed into the stands as a homer but, 2 fans reached out to catch the ball they thought was in the stands. The umpire called it interference, which resulted in an out for Altuve.

Victoria fans Troy Caldwell and Jared Tomanek were in the stands above the wall where the fly ball was headed. The men instinctively reached out to catch the souvenier, resulting in the interference call.

In a published report about the incident, Caldwell says he owes Altuve a beer. The brother-in-law of Caldwell says Troy has been receiving harassment on social media over the incident. Check out the replay of the call below.
