CharlieMac Saturday Drink Specials
In honor of it being the weekend of St. Patrick's Day, here are a few recipes that are fun and easy to make. Now, don't feel like you have to go out to a bar to have a few good drinks. These recipes are so simple you can make them at home. And you'll make it some cheaper at home than buying them at the bar, but you'll have to get the ingredients first.
Swamp Water (original source)
3 parts Limeade
2 parts Apricot Brandy
1 part Lime Vodka
Splash of Sweetened Lime Juice
Combine all ingredients into a pitcher and then stir. Finally, pour into a glass of ice.
True, while the Swamp Water is not exactly a St. Patrick's Day themed drink it is green...so...that should count for something, right? Fine, here is an actual St. Patrick's Day themed drink.
Shamrock Sour (original source)
2 tbsp. Lime Juice
½ tbsp. Lemon Juice
¼ cup Simple Syrup
2 oz Irish Whiskey
1 (tiny) drop Green Food Dye
Lime Wedge for Garnish
Combine ingredients into a shaker with ice and then shake well. Strain contents into a glass with ice and garnish with the lime wedge.
Irish Stout Float (original source)
3 scoops Vanilla Ice Cream
1 bottle Irish Stout
3 scoops of ice cream into a tall glass and then top it off with the Irish Stout. Feeling festive? Add a green straw and wear a hat with a shamrock on it.
All, if not most of, these drink ingredients can be found at your local liquor store. Townsquare Media and KIXS 108 do not condone underage drinking and encourage you to drink responsibly. Have a safe and fun weekend!
