Austin Ranks 1st in Texas for Jobs

A report released Tuesday by employment website Glassdoor revealed the 25 best cities for jobs in the United States, and no surprise here, Austin was on the list.

Overall, Austin came in at No. 4 on the national list. Statewide, Austin beat out Houston, San Antonio and Dallas.

The top cities have the highest "Glassdoor Job Score." The California-based website determined the rankings by three factors: How easy it is to get a job, how affordable it is to live, and how satisfied employees are working there.

Glassdoor included the city's median pay for employees, median home value, job satisfaction rating, population and number of current job openings.

There are 33,198 job openings in Austin, with a median base salary of $50,000.

San Antonio is No. 9, Dallas-Fort Worth is No. 14, and Houston is No. 21.
