You know, for a city the size of Victoria we have a pretty darn good zoo. I know whenever we gat a chance to take the kids, we always have a great time. Us adults are rather fond of the animals too. There's always something happening at the zoo, so here is a quick rundown of special events.

This Saturday is Pioneer Day.  See what a  day in the life of early cowboy was like. This event will include pony rides, "gold" mining,  hide tanning,  animal shows,  square dancing,  a covered wagon and cowboy chats, quilting,  a cowboy comedy act, and much more. The event is from 9a-4pm. Annual Pass Holders get in free, adults are only $10 and children are $8.  If you're a VIP make sure you check out our trade ins for freebies.

Return on October 19th and 20th for the annual Zoo Boo for some trick or treating. Hang  out with ghouls, goblins, superheroes, fairies, princesses, and much more. There will also be a  most creative costume contest, so be sure to join in the fun! This is a kid friendly even.

If you like to really be scared,  make sure you attend the Haunted Zoo.  If you want to help be a part of the haunted zoo contact the Texas Zoo at 573-7681. Join in the fun from 8 p.m. - Midnight on October 26 -28th. Ages 13+ welcome with parent/guardian permission.

There’s always something going on at the Texas Zoo, the little zoo with a big heart. Come check it out!
