Even though The Victoria Generals were only one game short of winning the 2012 Texas Collegiate League Championship, they didn't come up short when it came to the voting for the league’s end-of-the-year awards, with 3 Generals named to the 2012 All-TCL Team.

Head coaches from around the league voted Jordan Pacheco, Chad Kruse, and Jude Vidrine to this year's All-TCL Team.

Jordan Pacheco made the team as the top right-handed pitcher in the league.  The Generals’ ace went 6-2 on the season, tied for the league-lead in wins during the regular season.  Pacheco, a Victoria native, finished third in the TCL in both ERA (1.90) and strikeouts (50).  Pacheco had his best outing of the summer in his only post-season start, leading the Generals to an opening game win against the East Texas Pump Jacks in the TCL Championship Series.  Pacheco tossed seven innings, allowing just one run on three hits with a season-high nine strikeouts.

Jude Vidrine was one of three outfielders named to the All-TCL Team.  Vidrine led the TCL with 39 walks and a .459 on-base percentage.  His .317 batting average was good enough for the fourth highest in the league.  Vidrine added nine doubles, four home runs, 28 RBI, and 28 runs scored on the season.  A season-ending foot injury caused Vidrine to miss the playoffs for the Generals.

A season after setting the TCL record for hits and at-bats in a season while being named to the All-TCL team as an outfiedler, Chad Kruse batted.294 and finished among the top-5 in the league with 38 runs and 36 RBI.  Kruse, who was named to the All-TCL team as a second baseman this season, was the only player in the league to appear in every game during the 2012 season, including the playoffs.  He added 13 doubles, one triple, two homeruns, 17 walks, and 13 stolen bases on the season.  Over the course of the past two seasons, Kruse has set several single-season and career records for the Generals to become one of the most decorated players in team history.

So, even though they didn't bring home the crown this year, it was another great year for our Victoria Generals. Congratulations!
