Once a week I will highlight and showcase someone local to be our Rockstar of the Week. They can’t just be anybody off the street, our Rockstars of the Week are community involved, dedicated volunteers who devote much of their time helping others and improving the lives of citizens in our community. If you would like to nominate someone, please send over their info to DaveFenix@townsquaremedia.com and let me know why they should be featured as our Rockstar of the Week!

This week’s Rockstar of the week is Jacob Caballero. Jacob lives in Inez and is a senior at Victoria East High School. He is in Law Enforcement II and his instructor is Cris Pruitt. This past week Jacob was selected to go to SKILLS. SKILLS… is a Career and Technical competition that includes Law Enforcement, Welding, Auto Tech, Auto Body, Cosmetology, Culinary Arts, Computer Maintenance, etc. The District Competition (District 12) is February 28th - March 1st in Laredo, and he along with another student will be competing in the felony traffic stop competition.

In Jacob’s spare time he loves to fish, play video games, and enjoys hunting. He has always had a desire to study law enforcement and VISD has enabled him to learn tactical procedures.
