The life and music of late T. Rex vocalist Marc Bolan will be saluted during a special benefit organized by the U.K.’s PRS for Music Members Benevolent Fund.

Former T. Rex producer Tony Visconti and band saxophonist Howie Casey will represent the group, while a number of musicians from different genres will perform tracks in honor of Bolan Sept. 15 at London’s 02 Shepherd’s Bush Empire.

Yes‘ Rick Wakeman, the Sex Pistols‘ Glen Matlock, Soft Cell singer Marc Almond, and Culture Club’s Boy George lead the night’s entertainment lineup, which also includes Alvin Stardust, Danielz and T.Rextasy, Cockney Rebel’s Steve Harley, Andy Ellison, and Linda Lewis.

Almond told Vintage Vinyl News, “It’s a privilege to be asked to be a part of something so special. Marc Bolan was an amazing artist and person. It will be a fantastic night to commemorate Marc and T. Rex.”

The Members Benevolent Fund has been crucial in helping songwriters and composers dealing with illness, disability, older age-related and financial difficulties. Since Bolan’s death in 1977, a share of his song royalties have been paid to the PRS for Music Members Benevolent Fund.
