I've been in a large store when the power went out before, and let me tell you, it was no fun. The doors automatically locked, and the staff and customers were stuck for a few hours. That's what happened at the Walmart Supercenter at 9002 N. Navarro yesterday, and the power was reportedly out for about 5 hours.

A published report about the incident in the Victoria Advocate doesn't say whether or not customers were able to leave during that time. Walmart Shift Manager Joe Soto said the produce section still had power during the outage.

American Electric Power said no outages were reported, and an electrician that was called to check out the problem said it was due to a breaker box that had shut down.
