Who’s ready for fall movies? You are! (Just go with it.) One of the most anticipated fall flicks of 2017 is Molly’s Game, which is not only the latest film from Aaron Sorkin as a writer, it is his first feature as a director after years creating TV shows like The West Wing and writing films like A Few Good MenSteve Jobs, and the Oscar-winning The Social Network.

Like so many of Sorkin’s recent efforts, Molly’s Game is based on a true story, one previously told in Molly Bloom’s memory Molly’s Game: From Hollywood’s Elite to Wall Street’s Billionaire Boys Club, My High-Stakes Adventure in the World of Underground Poker. (Probably a good thing Sorkin shortened that sucker.) The full trailer arrives tomorrow, but star Jessica Chastain (who plays Bloom in the film) just tweeted out a fairly lengthy teaser:

The cast, some of which you see or hear in the clip, also includes Idris Elba, Chris O’Dowd, Michael Cera, and Kevin Costner. Here’s a synopsis:

Molly Bloom, a young skier and former Olympic hopeful becomes a successful entrepreneur (and a target of an FBI investigation) when she establishes a high-stakes, international poker game.

Obviously Sorkin’s abilities as a director here are the big unknown. Can he work with actors as well as guys like Danny Boyle or David Fincher? And, maybe most importantly, will he be so in love with his screenplay that he’ll be too focused on that to put the overall movie ahead of the Sorkinese? That’s what we need to find out. Molly’s Game opens in theaters on November 22.
