Afraid of heights? It's time to conquer your fears for a good cause. Coming in October, raising money for charity will reach new heights....quite literally. The challenge is to rappel off the 12-story One O'Connor Plaza building for Over the Edge Victoria.

Over the Edge is a company based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. They are partnering with Challenged Athletes Dream Complex and the Hispanic Council of Victoria to raise money to build a new integrated playground where children, including those with physical and mental challenges, can play together.

The event will comply with all federal and state OSHA standards and laws and will have highly trained and certified industrial rope specialists. It costs $1,000 to be able to participate but that's where the donations come in. People can actually raise money and be sponsored. You raise the $1,000, you can rappel.

Participants need to be 18 years or older and meet the weight requirements. Participants are encouraged to dress up as their favorite superhero or in another costume because the event will occur on the weekend before Halloween. Spectators are invited to come out and cheer. A live DJ and various food trucks will provide entertainment and food.

The Farmer's Market will line the streets nearby in the morning, and a haunted house for kids will be set up at the Junior League building later in the day.

It all concludes with a big street dance.

Sounds like fun!
