The Victoria Generals started the best-of-three Texas Collegiate League Championship Series with a 6-5 win over the Brazos Valley Bombers last night at Riverside Stadium.

The series, which is a rematch of last year's championship, has the Bombers looking for back-to-back titles.

Kaleb Keith started on the mound for the Generals, and he gave up 4 runs on 7 hits with 3 strikeouts.He was relieved in the 6th inning by Aaron Burns. The game marked the first appearance for Burns for the Generals, who was replaced by Jeff Chestnut, who got the win in the 9th.

Game 2 of the series is tonight in Bryan at Cellucor Field.

That game is set to start at 7:05. If a game three is necessary, it will also be played in Cellucor.
