The Victoria Generals made it 2 in a row over the Acadiana Cane Cutters with a 2-1 walk-off 11th inning win last night, and a 3-2 victory Saturday night to secure a spot in the playoffs.

Jace Reese delivered an RBI single into right field in the bottom of the 11th inning last  night to score Hayden Vesely, and give the Victoria Generals a 2-1 walk-off win. With the win, the Generals improve to 17-11 on the season and sweep the Cane Cutters in a two-game home series.

Both teams had numerous scoring opportunities throughout the game with the Cane Cutters leaving 13 men on base and the Generals 10.  Several outstanding defensive plays were made throughout the night to end innings and scoring opportunities.

Generals starting pitcher Trey Wall scattered seven hits in five innings, allowing just one run with three strikeouts.  Chase Angelle pitched two hitless frames and Nathan Humpal tossed three innings without allowing a run.  Juan Cortina picked up the win by sitting the Cane Cutters down in order in the top of the 11th inning.

Saturday night, the Generals used three sacrifice flies to beat the Cane Cutters 3-2.  With the win, the Generals secured a second-place finish in the first-half of the 2013 Texas Collegiate League season, which in turn secures the number two seed in the TCL postseason come August.
