To say that the Victoria Generals aren't generating much offense lately is an understatement. The team has only managed 5 runs over the last 4 games, and fell to the Bombers last night 4-1.

The first-place Brazos Valley Bombers scored two runs in the third inning on a bases loaded walk and a sacrifice fly to take a 2-0 lead.

The Bombers made it 4-0 in the fifth inning on a two-run home run by Hunter Melton.

The Generals lone run of the game came in the bottom of the seventh inning on a David Paiz, Jr. solo home run to left-centerfield.  It was his third home run of the season.

Kyle Keller took the loss for the Generals, allowing four runs on five hits with five walks and four strikeouts.  Tyler Schnuriger made his season debut for the Generals pitching two scoreless innings with two strikeouts.  Kris Looper and Kaleb Keith each pitched a scoreless inning without allowing a hit.

With the loss, the Generals fall to 22-24 on the season and 5-11 in the second-half.  The Bombers improve to 36-11 overall and 10-7 in the second-half.

The two teams will meet again tonight for game two of the series.  Tonight is also the Generals fourth annual Health and Fitness Fair presented by DeTar Healthcare System.  A variety of health care professionals will be on hand to set up booths and give away promotional materials throughout the game.  Game time is 7:05pm at Riverside Stadium in Victoria.

Go Generals!
