The U.K. numbers are in and Van Halen’s ‘A Different Kind of Truth,’ which is their first album in 14 years and first with David Lee Roth at the vocal helm in 28 years, debuted at No. 6 on the sales charts. Bravo! Congrats to the band on the first sales accolade to come in. But wait. There’s more to come, VH fans.

We’ll find out how the album did sales-wise in the U.S. when the Billboard Top 200 chart is made available on Wednesday morning (Feb. 15.) Early estimates indicated that the album was on track to sell between 180,000 and 200,000 here, and those numbers are solid enough where the album could land at No. 1. Let’s hope that domestic Van Halen fans went out and nabbed the record, pushing a rock album back to the top of the charts.

Adele’s ’21,’ which scooped up a ton of Grammys on Sunday (Feb. 12), has been sitting pretty at No. 1 for weeks upon weeks. It’s high time for rock to rule the roost again. If you haven’t picked up your copy of ‘A Different Kind of Truth’ yet, what the hell are you waiting for?
