Unless you've been hiding under a rock this year, you know that Black Sabbath are currently saying farewell to their fans. Paying tribute the best way that they know how, Rhino Records decided it was time to reissue Sabbath's first eight studio albums on limited-edition 180-gram colored vinyl in honor of the legends. It might be the understatement of the year, but we here at Loudwire are gigantic Black Sabbath fans, so of course we had to get our hands on these records.

Each LP is pressed on beautiful wax and housed in a heavy-duty, high-quality gatefold jacket. The records come packed in a white paper sleeve along with a fresh printed inner sleeve; a few of the earlier albums, like Black Sabbath and Paranoid, feature some amazing liner notes pulled from various sources throughout the years, and they all highlight awesome photos from the band's career.

For instance, in the liner notes for their self-titled debut, there are some great quotes from Bill Ward and Geezer Butler; Ward calls Black Sabbath his most "emotionally attached album," while Ward admits what we all know: "We just wanted to be heavier than everybody else!" The bulk of the notes tell the story of the album, from its inception to its release in the states and how it hit the No. 23 position on the U.S. charts based on word of mouth alone (at the time of release, Sabbath had yet to play anywhere outside of Europe).

We get it, if you're as big of a fan as we are, you probably have most of these albums in your collection already. But trust us, it's not a bad thing to have an extra copy or two, especially when those extra copies are these particular reissues that capture arguably the best years of Sabbath. And if you didn't know, all of these albums first came out in the U.S. via Warner Bros., so needless to say Rhino -- which falls under the Warner umbrella -- wanted to make sure these reissues are excellent and worthy of joining your stack of Sabbath music.

Check out our unboxing of the eight Black Sabbath reissues in the video above, and make sure to grab details on each release at Rhino Records' official website.
