OK I get it. There is big debate on whether or not marijuana should be legal. Well, in Nevada it is not yet legal so they have to follow the law of the land right? No exceptions.

Tell that to UFC fighter Nick Diaz who was just handed a suspension of 5 years and a fine of $165,000 for failing another drug test and testing positive for marijuana.

Diaz is upset naturally but I'm not sure why he want on a rant about the Nevada State Athletic Commission when it was he who knew the rules and chose to break them.

Some people say it's a bit of a steep punishment but as I said, he knew the rules and broke them now multiple times. My personal stance on marijuana is that I do not partake in it personally but I hold no judgement on those who do. However, if it is still banned under penalty of law then you have to follow the law no matter how much you might disagree with it. And that's Nick's problem. He doesn't agree with the law so he chose not to follow it. Doesn't work that way.

In closing I believe he deserved to be suspended and fined. If you break the law you have to be held accountable. End of story. Tough break for Diaz but it is what it is.
