It's obvious Texas Governor Abbott doesn't watch a whole lot of football or if he does he just doesn't understand the mechanics of the sport. I only say that because of who he suggested take the place of injured quarterback Tony Romo.

Cowboy fans are nervous at the thought of backup quarterback Brandon Weeden taking the reigns and leading the team to a string of wins in Romo's absence. But it is what it is. However, if Greg Abbott had his way, Cowboys fans would probably be cringing a little more. See, Abbott thinks the Cowboys should bring on NFL flame out Tim Tebow to take the snaps.

Although I'm sure Tebow would chomp at the bit to get a spot on an NFL squad lets remember he's already made a commitment to his broadcasting duties as an NFL analyst and SEC Network commentator. Let's also not forget it's Tim Tebow. Need I say more?

Sorry Abbott but I'm sure Dallas fans are looking for ways to win and Tebow isn't it no matter how much God is on his side. In the meantime Dallas plans to try out a few veteran QB's to backup Weeden so it looks like they're putting their full faith in him to take the snaps until Romo comes back which could take up to 2 months. What that means is Dallas needs to really step up it's running game as Weeden just isn't the accurate arm Romo is.

We'll see what happens.
