So if you watched last night's Panthers/Colts game you were treated, in the third quarter, to a display of epic stupidity. Two protesters decided to disrupt the game (and the fans that paid hundreds of dollars to be there) to protest Bank of America...the company who has naming rights to the stadium where the game was being played. The two protesters, Erica Madrid and John Nicholson, dangled over fans in the lower bowl and in front of press-box windows late in the third quarter, then displayed a banner telling the Charlotte-based financial institution to "dump Dominion."

This coming from the fact that Bank of America has helped with financing for a liquefied natural gas export facility by energy company Dominion Resources in Cove Point, Maryland. The protest caused regular, not off their rocker, fans to have to get up and move away from the scene while law enforcement decided what to do with the two that were dangling along side a huge banner they hung while repelling down to the lower levels.

There's a time and a place for crap like this and it isn't at an NFL game. These idiots just wanted TV time to promote their useless cause. What's worse is the fact that, by NFL standards of security, a regular, non see-through purse is prohibited as are things such as umbrellas. However, it seemed no problem for these people to bring in advanced repelling equipment and a giant banner. Sounds like some heads are gonna roll on that stadium's security staff.

As for the protesters. They were arrested and charged with criminal trespassing and resisting arrest along with two of their buddies. Hope it was worth it.
